The 2026 Hyundai Archery World Cup Shanghai Stop entered its third day of competition on May 7 at the Shanghai Yuanshen Sports Center Stadium. The Chinese team delivered impressive performances, securing spots in the finals of the women’s recurve team and mixed team events.
In the women’s recurve team elimination rounds, the Chinese lineup of Zhu Jingyi, Huang Yuwei, and Yu Shu continued their excellent form. They will face India in the gold medal match. The tournament’s top seed, South Korea, suffered an upset in the semifinals against India but bounced back to defeat Spain in the bronze medal match, taking third place. Earlier in the 2026 Archery World Cup season opener, this Chinese trio had already claimed gold in the women’s recurve team event.
Looking ahead to the final, Zhu Jingyi emphasized the importance of staying calm and grounded. “Our team is more composed now. We three are all core members, and everyone is indispensable. When facing difficulties, we encourage each other. We can’t control the outcome, only our own performance. We rely on our strength and focus on the present moment,” she said. Huang Yuwei added, “We need to do our best, shoot every arrow steadily, and leave no regrets.”
In the recurve mixed team elimination, the Chinese duo of Li Menglin and Huang Yuwei also advanced to the final. They will compete against South Korea for the gold medal, while Germany and Japan will vie for bronze.
In the recurve men’s team event, South Korea powered through to the final, while Turkey staged a comeback against the United States in the semifinals to join them. Vietnam defeated the United States to claim the bronze medal.
For the compound mixed team, Turkey and the United States secured their spots in the final after tough semifinal victories. Kazakhstan and Estonia will compete for bronze.
