Kinzli George has etched her name into the Caddo Mills High School record books. Before this season, only two girls from the school had ever advanced to the state tennis tournament. George changed that with her performance at the UIL Class 4A state meet in San Antonio.
She secured her spot at the state tournament on April 20 by reaching the Class 4A Region II girls singles championship match. Although she finished as the regional runner-up, earning a silver medal, the achievement was historic for the program.
At the state tournament in San Antonio, George faced Alexandra Gomez from Travis High School in her opening match. The two battled through an intense marathon lasting three hours. In the end, George fell just short, losing to Gomez in three sets and ending her season.
