The Philadelphia Flyers have been eliminated from the NHL playoffs in the second round for a fourth consecutive time in the last 16 seasons, falling to the Carolina Hurricanes in a 4-0 series sweep (2-3 in overtime in Game 4).
The Flyers have not reached the conference finals since 2010, when they advanced to the Stanley Cup Final and lost to the Chicago Blackhawks. Since then, Philadelphia has made it to the second round four times, but each attempt ended in defeat: in 2011, they lost 0-4 to the Boston Bruins; in 2012, they fell 1-4 to the New Jersey Devils; in 2020, they were defeated 3-4 by the New York Islanders; and in 2026, they were swept 0-4 by the Carolina Hurricanes.
Additionally, the franchise has not won the Stanley Cup since 1975, meaning their championship drought will extend to at least 52 years, even if they were to end it next season.
