Robinho Jr appears to be edging closer to a departure from Santos, just days after accusing Neymar of assault. The 18-year-old forward, son of former Brazil star Robinho, has refused to return to training with the under-20 squad, according to Globo Esporte.
Meanwhile, tensions between the young player and Neymar have been resolved following a reported reconciliation.
Despite signing a contract extension in April this year, Robinho Jr has struggled for first-team opportunities under Santos head coach Cuca. The 62-year-old manager has only named the teenager on the bench eight times, and he has not played for over a month.
Although he has been part of the senior squad, Robinho Jr has made it clear he will not rejoin the under-20 setup without a clear career plan for the winger. A transfer during the next window now seems a likely outcome. According to Brazilian media, sources close to the player have indicated interest from Internacional, though no formal bid has been made.
The Santos coaching staff believes the forward is not yet ready for the senior team, but the player is expected to stay ready and wait for his chance. Robinho Jr’s contract with Santos runs until 2031.
