
Krasnodar’s chances of defending their Russian Premier League (RPL) title have dropped to 15.7 percent, according to statistics service Opta. The club suffered a 1-2 away loss to Moscow’s Dynamo on Monday, allowing Saint Petersburg’s Zenit to move to the top of the table after their 2-1 win over Sochi on Sunday. Opta now gives Zenit, coached by Sergei Semak, an 84.3 percent probability of winning the championship.
Zenit leads the league with 65 points, two ahead of Krasnodar, and holds a head-to-head advantage in case of a tie on points. In the final round of matches on May 17, Zenit will face Rostov away, while Krasnodar will host Orenburg.
