In a heated moment during El Clásico on Sunday, Vinicius Jr, the Real Madrid and Brazil forward, was told to “shut up” by Barcelona’s Gavi. The incident unfolded at Camp Nou during a Spanish league match and was widely reported by Spanish newspaper Marca.
What happened
Vinicius and Gavi traded provocations, with the Barcelona midfielder attempting to irritate the Brazilian by bringing up the Ballon d’Or. Gavi referred to the 2024 award, which was won by Manchester City’s Rodri, instead of Vinicius.
In response, the Real Madrid star fired back by highlighting his Champions League triumphs. Vinicius played a key role in Madrid’s two most recent European titles, while Barcelona hasn’t reached the final since 2015.
